Chairman Chizy calls the meeting to order at 7:00 pm followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Selectman Hebert motions to approve as presented meeting minutes from 9/18/2012, Selectman Stuart second’s passes 3-0

Appointment to the Board of Health: Atty. Tammi Marois is present requesting an appointment to fill the Board of Health seat left vacant by Ken Malo Jr. After brief discussion with the BOS, Selectman Stuart motions to appoint Attorney Tammi Marois to the vacant seat on the Board of Health with a term to expire June 2015, Selectman Hebert seconds passes 3-0

Approve October Annual Town Meeting Warrant: this warrant was reviewed at the September 18th BOS meeting. Hearing no questions

Approval of Conservation Land Acceptance: In correspondence from Planning Director Jen Hager, this is the final piece of property that lies in front of the pump station and also contains a portion of the Mumford River Trail. The owners of the property, the Bousquet heirs, have gifted it to the Town. TA Smith thanks the Bousquet family for their donation. Hearing no concerns Selectman Stuart motions to approve as presented the vote of the Conservation Commissions acceptance of a gift of land approximately 2,365 square feet abutting Main Street, Manchaug from the Bousquet family as described in the Quit Claim deed executed by the Bousquet heirs, Selectman Hebert seconds passes 3-0   

Town Administrators Update:
  • Assistant Wiring Inspector:  John Couture has recommended Jeffrey Fenuccio as the assistant wiring inspector to Larry Morris
  • Insurance Advisory Committee: meetings have begun to discuss the possibility of changing the town’s health care. Already agreed on was changing Medex part 3 to Medex part 2. This will save retirees as well as the town approx. $700.00 on premiums. There will also be changes to the active employees insurance.
  • Heat Recovery System: as part of the Green Communities grant we applied for a heat recovery system for the town hall. It is due to go out to bid shortly. This will drop our oil usage.
  • 4th annual Golf Tournament to benefit the Food Pantry is scheduled for Friday October 12th at 9am.
Fire Chief Belsito will house the District 7 ventilation truck @ company 3

Selectman Stuart reads the date, time and location for the upcoming Flu Clinics.


Round Table:
 Chairman Chizy speaks about the current needs at the Sutton Food Pantry. A list of items will be run on the cable channel

Correspondence:
Selectman Hebert reads a notice from CMRPC about Mass DOT and a meeting held today.
